Honors and Awards for DC 37 Retiree Women

Women members and supporters of the DC 37 Retirees Association received several honors and awards recently. 

WOMEN OWNING THEIR LEGACY: The DC 37 Retirees Association celebrated Women's History Month by honoring twenty-six "Women Owning Their Own Legacy" at its March 10 meeting. The award certificates were presented by Olivia Crumb who chairs the retirees' Black History Month Committee in recognition of the women's "dedication, passion and hard work." Those honored were: Iona Allen, Betty Anderson, Rhonna Bonsu, Efridge Borvell, Zelman Brown, Carmen Colon, Cynthia Cox, Norah Derespiris, Edna Estime, Isabel Figuroa, Denise Frank, Nellie Gomez-Arce, Ella Gorden, Petrona Graham, Audrey Iszard, Deboran Johnson, Julia Jorge, Aurea Mangual, Pilar Oquendo, Lillie Powell, Janis Williams, Shirley Williams, Bobbie Willis, Sexy Sallie Robinson, Effie Tucker and Ivey Walton.

RETIREES VP HONORED IN THE BRONX: Isabel Figueroa (shown below, center) is the retirees' Associate Vice President for Social Security, Pensions, and Medicare. She has long been active with Bronx Community Board 1 and was awarded a Citation of Merit for her years of community service.
