Anna Berry
Anna M. Berry, born and raised in New York City, attended the New York City Public School System. Graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a Bachelors’ degree in Psychology. She also attended and graduated from The New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University.
Ms. Berry, is now a Retiree after over twenty-five years of service for The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. She is very active in her family, community, church and union. She loves being involved in anything that is positive and would make a difference in helping others.
Anna, is a Deaconess and Coordinator of Events in her church, Miracle Pentecostal Church of The Lord Jesus and has held many other titles such as Trustee and President of the Usher Board.
Ms. Berry, was an active member in her local 768 as a Shop Steward and Delegate until her retirement. She has held positions as a Delegate to International Convention, Chapter Chair to the Women’s and Public Health Advisor Committees. Secretary to DC37 Women’s Committee and belong to various committees in the union. Ms. Berry, has participated in rallies and marches in Washington, Albany and New York, to fight for Civil Rights, education, healthcare, social security, wage increases and housing.
Ms. Berry, is now a Board member of DC37 Retirees Association, member of Coalition of Black Trade Unionist (CBTU) and Board member of Coalition Labor Union Women (CLUW).
Ms. Berry, belongs to Community Emergency Response Team(CERT) and serves as a District Leader in community Board 9. She is the Vice-President of Missionary Ladies Guild of New York, the President of a non-profit Organization, M.O.M. and a member of The NAACP.
Ms. Berry, states that her most highest award and accolade is being GOD’S SERVANT
