Bruce Heigh started his civil service career as a DC 37, Local 1549, member in 1973 working at the Human Resources Administration. In 1978 he became a Local 2627 member as a result of a Computer Programmer Analyst Trainee exam. He was subsequently promoted to the Computer Associate and Computer Specialist positions. His dedication to his local began in the early 1980's serving as the local's Treasurer for over 30 years.

He simultaneously served as a delegate to DC 37, NYCCLC and AFSCME
conventions. Bruce follows in the footsteps of several family members, namely his mom, aunt and sister-in-law from Locals 1655, 2054 and 1549 respectively, as a member of the DC 37 Retirees Association.  Bruce has been a very active and engaged member of the Retirees Association for many years now serving as the Office Manager & the Associate Secretary on the Executive Board.
